Lois I. Conry, age 93, of Wakeman, passed away on Tuesday February 21, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born on August 6, 1918 in Fremont and has lived in the Wakeman area for the last 54 years. She was a 1936 graduate of Monroeville High School. She was a member of the Professional Business Women's Association. She was a homemaker who helped her husband with their farm and dairy operation. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroeville and also attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wakeman. She enjoyed farm and family life, the family gatherings, and making trips to see Notre Dame football games.
She is survived by her daughter Lois "Sue" (Jerry) Schwan, of Monroeville, her two sons John Jr. and Brian Conry, of Wakeman, a sister Jean Bores, of CA, three grandchildren, Stacey Gessling, Tom (Lavin) Schwan, and Mandy (Randy) Schafer, nine great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Helen Overmyer, of Norwalk, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years John Conry Sr., her parents Clarence and Lucy (Schlegel) Overmyer, and her brother Norman Overmyer.
Friends may call on Thursday, February 23 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. A Prayer Service will take place on Friday morning at 10:00 am at the funeral home followed by services at 10:30 at St. Marys Church on Main Street in Wakeman. Pastor Amy Little of the Trinity Lutheran Church and Father Frank Kehres of St. Paul Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery.
