Lois J Ross, 90, of Wakeman, passed away on January 16, 2015 at the Norwalk Memorial Home. She was born on October 24, 1924 in Oberlin and has lived in the Area her entire life. She was a 1942 graduate of Wakeman High School and received a bachelors degree from Baldwin Wallace College in 1945. Lois was a dietitian at Oberlin College prior to marrying her husband in 1950. She was an active member of the Wakeman Congregational Church, serving as the church organist beginning in high school. She later served as a substitute organist for many years. She also taught Sunday School and was a member of the Talent Guild. She was a member of the American Association of University Women, the Huron County Home Economics Association, the Wakeman Community Library Advisory Board and the Fireside Reading Group.

She is survived by her children David (Patti) Ross, of Wakeman, Joel (Janet) Stow, OH, grandchildren Dennis (Diane), Mitch (Megan), Lauren, Natalie, and Steve Ross, as well as four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, a son Steve, parents Blaine and May (Graves) Hurst, and a brother George, in infancy.

Private burial will take place at Wakeman Cemetery.

On Saturday January 24, there will be a memorial service at 11:00 am at the Wakeman Congregational Church. Visitation will be one hour prior. The Reverend Doctor Janet Ross will be officiating.
