John Richard Schuh, 69, of Berlin Heights, passed away peacefully at The Meadows at Osborn in Huron March 26th after a lengthy illness.
He was born January 17,1945 in Bellevue, Ohio to Richard and Velma (Keller) Schuh who preceded him in death.
John was a 35 year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 42, of which he retired in 1992. He and his wife also were self employed with Schuh Excavating for 17 years.
John is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sandra Schuh (Strong-Jors), his daughter Erica Lee Mattice Ritzema (Tim), grandchildren Eric Pierce and Emma Mattice and Shane Ritzema all of Carthage Missouri. He is also survived by his stepson Jason Jors (Ann) of Norwalk, step-grandchildren Austin and Madison Jors of Helena, Ohio and Vivian Hinckley of Norwalk. Also his sister Donna Markwood (John) of Vermilion and brother and sister-in-law Rolland and Dorothy Strong of Kettering, Ohio. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins, an aunt and many many friends.
John attended Berlin Local Schools and took his welding training at Lincoln Electric in 1966.
John was a member of Maple City Eagles Aerie #711 in Norwalk, The Berlin Twp. Farmers and Hunters Conservation Club since 1976, of which he was a Trustee for many years, and a life member of the NRA. He was a member of the Lake Erie Antique Power Branch 103 Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association for 5 years.
Friends may call on Sunday March 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights. Services will be held on Monday March 31 at 10:30 at the funeral home. Chaplin David Clarke will be officiating. Private entombment will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park.
