Hazel I. (Puder) Sheldon, age 95 of Clarksfield, died on June 12, 2014 at Altenheim Nursing Home in Strongsville. She was born on April 14, 1919 in Huron County and has lived in the Clarksfield area her entire life. She was a graduate of Wakeman High School and Oberlin Business College. She began attending the Clarksfield United Methodist Church at age six and became a member at age 12, where she played organ and was active with the United Methodist Women. Hazel was also a member of the Western Reserve Athletic Boosters.
She is survived by her children, Karen Zarzour, of Strongsville, Duane (Maureen) Sheldon, of North Ridgeville, daughter-in-law Linda Sheldon, of Taylorsville, KY, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Clay and Juanita Marie (Byron) Puder, her husband
Lloyd Sheldon, a son Dane Sheldon foster-sisters Betty Lucal, and Dorothy Street, and a brother in infancy.
Friends may call on Friday June 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Clarksfield United Methodist Church on Zenobia Road. Rev. Patty Jo Sheldon will be officiating. Burial will follow at Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.
