Doren A. Butler, 78, of Wakeman, Ohio passed away peacefully at Fisher-Tutus Hospital on the morning of May 6, 2013.
Doren retired to his hometown of Wakeman after 41 years working for the Buckeye Pipeline. During his career, Doren grew through the ranks, rising from a general laborer to the switch board operator at the Mantua, Ohio station. After retiring, Doren remained engaged as a charter member of the Wakeman Eagles 4354 and member of the Gibson Masonic Lodge 301.
Doren, and his twin brother Loren, were the youngest of nine children born to Ralph and Rettie (Flew) Butler. Doren is survived by his eldest sister, Arlene Bateman (Butler) of Florida, his loving significant other Delores Fletcher of Wakeman, daughter Laura Butler of Vermilion, grandchildren Brent Douglas of Green, Devin Douglas of Elyria, and Ashley Milleson of Vermilion, and great grandchildren Janna Milleson of Vermilion, and Lauren and Anthony Douglas of Green.
Siblings preceding Doren in death were his sisters Selina Timbs (Butler), of Wakeman, Olive Green (Butler) of South Amherst, Mary Burdue (Butler) of South Amherst, and brothers Loren Butler of Wakeman, Norman Butler of Wakeman, Leon Butler of Wakeman, and Donald Butler of South Amherst. Doren was also preceded in death by his faithful cat, Brandie
Friends may call on Friday May 10 from 4:00 pm until the time of services at 7:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman. Private burial will take place at Wakeman Cemetery.
